Summer Essentials: Vitamin C

IMG_5922 copy

If you haven’t put vitamin c on your shelf during this season you are definitely doing something wrong with your life. Vitamin c ingredient is a must for summer and it does more than you can image. Two months ago I was reminiscing about a summer that my skin was literally perfect, of course I was younger and didn’t use to wear as much makeup as I wear now but I could see that it was improved.. a lot. Guess what was on my routine? My favorite vitamin C products so far are from The Body Shop, these products bring so much glow to the skin like 0 to 100. These are products that I always run back to, they are amazing, work pretty well for my skin but this time I decided to try something new.

The vitamin c serum I’m digging now is from Measurable Difference, and has also don’t a pretty amazing job. It has helped a lot in maintaining my skin nourished, firm, and protecting against UV rays and sun exposure.

Why is Vitamin C so important on summer time?

You are going to be exposed to the sun no matter what, you cannot run from the sun, is summer, daaahh!!! but you can always minimize sun damage by maximizing sun protection, guess how? Use Vitamin C!

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that slows the rate of free radical damage to collagen and aids to skin repair. Honestly, the vitamin itself is not going to protect from sun damage and UV rays, but pairing it with sunscreen is going maximize protection. what I do on daily basis is apply my vitamin c serum all over my face, drag down to my neck and shoulders, then put a moisturizer with SPF, currently using Murad’s Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30, which protects and hydrates the skin at the same time. On days I spend more time exposed to the sun, I apply the vitamin c serum and Neutrogena Sunscreen Beach Defense SPF 70. This combination enhance the SPF formulation and reduces the incident of sunburn.
